The annual Student Art Exhibition opens this weekend, and boasts works of art to suit (nearly) every taste!
On Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm, the Exhibition will held in the Auxiliary building, Forum, and Library. The event is completely student run and Visual Art majors and Studio Art minors are chosen by Julian Forrest and Keith Harder to receive Studio Art Grants based on the work they choose to display.
The show also provides a singular experience for students: they have the opportunity to show their work in a professional manner to an audience. Visitors can view a wide range of work, from first year introductory courses to fourth year capstone, self-directed work.
If you see something you like you may even have the option to make a purchase!
“This is my fourth year participating in the show and will be my last year exhibiting work,” says Randi Martin, fourth year double major in Visual Art and Psychology. “I am also the coordinator for the exhibition this time around! I’ve had a lot of fun planning this show since September and I am looking forward to sharing the hard work and dedication of Augustana art students with the Augustana and Camrose communities.”
There is no admission to attend the event. A wide variety of drawing, painting, and sculpture will be available to engage your imagination, as well as snacks and free tea and coffee provided by Starbucks.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday and Saturday between 9 am and 6 pm!
