On Saturday October 11th, a smaller contingent of Vikings runners travelled to Edmonton for the Exhibition Grand Prix in Goldstick Park. Overall, the women were first in the five km ACAC competition. Kathryn Stone blazed the fastest trail for the Vikings women, finishing in second place with a time of 22:16. Maggie McBride and Alicia Hurley also ran into the top ten. McBride finished in seventh place with a time of 24:04 and Hurley placed eighth, clocking a time of 24:13. The men’s team continued their strong performance in the ACAC eight km race, finishing second to Lethbridge College. David Arial was the fastest male Viking, placing fourth with a time of 28:12. Kieran Baird and Kai Skinstad also cracked the top ten. In the competition, Baird finished in eighth (31:08) and Skinstad placed tenth (32:47). Next race date for the Vikings will be on October 25th, as the running team will travel to Grande Prairie for the ACAC Championships.
