Augustana Vikings travelled to Edmonton to defeat the Taylor Fire.

On Friday, the Augustana Vikings travelled to Edmonton to play against the Taylor Fire. The Vikings won game one 25-21, but found themselves down 17-5 in game two. After some regrouping, the Vikings stormed back with a 25-23 game two win. Augustana then dowsed the Fire with a final 25-18 game three win. On Saturday, the Vikings travelled to Calgary for matches against two possible playoff opponents. First up was a rematch of last year’s gold medal final against the Olds Broncos. The match lived up to the hype, as the two teams split the first two games 25-14 and 21-25. After dropping game two (their first set loss all year), the Vikings were able to take the next two 25-21 and 25-19 to take the match. Last up on Saturday were the host Ambrose Lions. After a tight game one (26-24), the Vikings took the last two games 25-14 and 25-21 to take the match. The Vikings sit alone in first place with a perfect 6 – 0 record, and look forward to their next away games on October 23rd in Lacombe and October 24th in Lac La Biche.
