On Thursday, the Vikings hosted the Taylor Fire, a team that needed to win two out of their last three matches in order to make playoffs. The Vikings started early with a 25-11 win in game one, but the Fire came back with a 25-22 win of their own. After a 25-9 win in game three, the Vikings closed out the night with a 25-20 win in game four to take the match 3 – 1. Next up was the last regular season match of the year against the Portage Voyageurs. A typical strong start saw the Vikings take game one by a score of 25-7. The Voyageurs were up the creek without a paddle against the Vikings, as Augustana rounded out the 3 – 0 win with scores of 25-17 and 25-18.

This win solidified first place for the Vikings with an 11 – 1 record. They will have a rematch against the Voyageurs next weekend in Olds at the ACAL Championships. The semi-finals are on Friday and all the medal games are on Saturday.
