The Great Karoo with Fred Stenson

H070 (First Year Residence)

Join prolific Alberta writer, Fred Stenson, for a reading and discussion of his latest novel, Governor-General Award nominated The Great Karoo.

The Great Karoo follows the story of Frank Adams, a cowboy from Pincher Creek, who joins the Canadian Mounted Rifles to fight the Boers, along with other young men from the ranches and towns nearby — a mix of cowboys and mounted policemen, who, for whatever reason, feel a desire to fight for the Empire in this far-off war.
