The Vikings wrestled the Rustlers this weekend. The first game saw the Vikings lose by a score of 70-51. At the break, the score was 51-25 in favour of the Rustlers. The Vikings improved defensively in the second half and limited the Rustlers to only 19 points. Jessie "Hammer" Hameister-Ries had 18 points for the Vikings and was rewarded with player the game honors.

Saturday night’s game had the Rustlers taking an early first quarter lead, 22-10. The Vikings proceeded to rebound and play tenacious defence, allowing them to win the following three quarters. The final score was 74-61 in favour of the Vikings. Jessie Hameister-Ries won player of the game for the second night in a row, with 15 points on the night. The game also saw great contributions from Karla Binder, who had an excellent game with 15 points on three for six shooting from behind the arc. Amy Tweedie was seven for nine from the field and earned a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Genna Flinkman led the defensive assault for the Vikings when she drew a timely charge in the first half, sparking the defensive intensity for the rest of the game. Next up for the Vikings are two home games against the Grande Prairie Wolves this weekend. Come cheer on the Vikings on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.
