On the weekend the Vikings played two home games against the Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves.

On the weekend the Vikings played two home games against the Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves. On Friday, the Vikings came out hard in the first quarter but were still down 22-18 to the visiting Wolves. Unfortunately for the Vikings, Grande Prairie responded in the next ten minutes by firing back with 28 second quarter points. The Vikings never fully recovered and the final score was 93-63 for the Wolves. i.d. apparel player of the game was Amy Tweedie with a double double of 10 points and 13 rebounds. Genna Flinkman also played well for the Vikings, dropping six dimes with only two turnovers. Jamie Sparrow was the top scorer for the Vikings with 20 points.

In game two on Saturday, the Vikings focused their efforts on playing strong team defense. The score after the first quarter was 28-11 for the Vikings. I.d. apparel player of the game was Alison Lundall. Lundall had a break out game with 20 points. She shot an astounding 75 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free throw line. Genna Flinkman grew ten inches to grab nine boards (four on the offensive glass). Flinkman also contributed four assists. Amy Tweedie had 14 points and seven rebounds, while Jessie Hameister – Ries had nine points and eight boards. Madelaine Merkel had a strong performance for the Vikings with five rebounds and seven points on 75 percent shooting. Although the Vikings battled hard, the end result was a heart breaking 74-71 loss at the hands of the Wolves.
