Political agitator, composer of verse, and personal friend of the muse, John Milton, writer of the epic Paradise Lost, will turn 400 on December 9, 2008. In honour of this day, a birthday party will be held on Friday December 05, 2008.

There will of course be cake and other refreshments.

Guests are invited to read a selection of your favourite Miltonic work. Reading is not mandatory, but, hey, it is an excellent opportunity to read Milton’s famed satanic speeches or moving sonnets to the fit though few. If you would like to do a reading or you would like a reading suggested to you, please email Sandy Bugeja (bugeja@ualberta.ca).

This event is being made possible thanks to the Augustana English Faculty.
