GroupWise (email, IMAP, POP and WebAccess/Webmail) will be unavailable as configuration changes are made to forwarding and anti-SPAM processes.

IMPORTANT – Information Only – BOND/GroupWise/email

Directed to: All Augustana Campus Staff

When: May 22, 1200 – 1300

TLS will be making a change in the handling of email forwarded from the GroupWise client. This change will allow email forwarded from GroupWise to appear to come from the original sender (instead of coming from your GroupWise account). Forwarded email modified in any way (subject, body of message) will come addressed from your GroupWise account. This change will help people who forward email to another account (BlackBerry, PDA, etc.) to be able to reply directly to the person who sent the email rather than the GroupWise account from which it was forwarded.

Additionally, the system used for anti-SPAM will be changed; this means SPAM may not be detected exactly as expected for a few days as SPAM rules and policies are adjusted to our environment. There may be occasions where incoming mail messages are delayed for a short period of time, very similar to the way messages are received now. Special rules have been put into place to allow mail from Augustana and the University of Alberta to be processed with very little delivery delay.

Please contact the TLS Department at tls@augustana.ca or x1600 (780-679-1600) if you have any questions related to this notice.
