Maggie MillsVikings Women’s Volleyball is pleased to announce the addition of Maggie Mills for the 2010-2011 ACAC volleyball season.

Maggie lives in Sherwood Park, Alberta, and attends Bev Facey High School. She has been a member of the school’s senior volleyball team for three years and is coached by Ms. Sue Huculak. She was named grade 10 and 11 female athlete of the year as well as being a recipient of the Heart award in both grade 10 and 11 for dedication, sportsmanship and contribution to athletics. She has been a member of the Park Volleyball club for a number of years and this year saw her play for their 18U team under Trent Mason, the 2008-09 CCAA coach of year. “ Maggie will give you everything she has on the court, she hates to lose and is a great competitor,’ stated Mason.

Maggie plans on pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with a still undecided major while at Augustana.

“ I’m really excited to get a chance to play for Augustana, I love the campus size, and it is a really great opportunity, I can’t wait to join the team,” stated Maggie.

Head Volleyball coach Stephen Leggitt commented that“ Maggie is an outstanding passer and defensive player and will surely add stability to our defence, she works very hard in practice as well as in games and is a natural leader, these are all the qualities that will make Maggie very successful in the ACAC.”
