Taylor ForemanThe University of Alberta – Augustana Campus and Vikings Men’s Basketball program are pleased to announce that Taylor Foreman has committed to joining the Vikings Men’s Basketball program beginning in the 2010-2011 season.

The athletic, hard working 6′4″ forward is no stranger to the Vikings Nation. He has been a key member of the Camrose Composite High School Trojans, where he is an honour student and a great student-leader. Taylor was the team MVP in his Grade 10 season and has been an honours-standing student for all three years of high school. This season, Taylor has been a statistical leader, chipping in with solid numbers in scoring and rebounding as well as playing championship-level defence and providing excellent on-the-floor leadership. Given all that, it was no surprise that the Trojans made a return to the Alberta Schools Athletic Association 3A provincial championships in his senior year.

“Taylor has an exceptionally high basketball IQ and I am certain he will make the mental adjustment to this level of play,” says head coach Dave Drabiuk of the newest Viking. “He has had excellent coaching throughout his development, here in Camrose and through his involvement in the Alberta Centre For Performance program. Now all that remains is for us to work together to find the best fit for him and his unique skill set within our program.” Taylor’s coach at Camrose Composite was Augustana Vikings basketball alum Andy Lyster; Taylor will join fellow Trojan alum David Chytracek on the Vikings roster.

Taylor’s mother and brother both attended the University of Alberta and his grandparents are Golden Bears and Pandas Basketball alumni themselves.

Taylor’s studies will be directed towards a career in medicine while attending the University of Alberta’s Augustana Campus.
