Two veterans commit to Augustana.

Jacob OheThe Augustana Vikings men’s volleyball program is excited to announce that Jacob Ohe has committed to Augustana. The 6’ 3” right side will be transferring after two years at MacEwan University to pursue a Bachelor of Management and helping to start the ACAC program at Augustana. His maturity and leadership will be counted on heavily this coming year.

Jacob graduated in 2008 from St. Francis Xavier high school where he was coached by Darrin Bauer, and also played 5 years in the club volleyball system for FOG Volleyball out of Edmonton.

“Jacob’s size and determination will be valued assets to our program. We couldn’t be more excited to start our ACAC program and have a player of Jacob’s calibre to help lead our team” said head coach Tom Tigchelaar.

About Augustana, Jacob said “the small campus seems like a very nice place to get an education. The close student support will be a great place to meet new people.”

Nathan LehmanAugustana Vikings volleyball is also pleased to announce that Nathan Lehman will be joining the Vikings in 2010-11. A transfer from TKUC’s ACAC program, Nathan will be coming to Augustana to pursue a degree in Kinesiology. The 6’ 2” left side will be looked upon for leadership as a player who has been in the ACAC system.

Nathan graduated from Central Alberta Christian High School in 2009 where he was coached by Jordan Hall. His team won 3rd place at Provincials while Nathan was in Grade 11 after a 4th place finish in Grade 10. Nathan also played for the Central Alberta King’s Volleyball Club for 3 years (2007-2009), winning the Men’s Volleyball Coaches Award in his final year. From there he played for the King’s Eagles from 2009-2010.

When asked why he chose Augustana, Nathan said he is “excited to start in a different field of study and the small class sizes and smaller community is going to be a great place to do so.”

Head coach Tom Tigchelaar said “We look forward to having Nathan complement our left side this season. His natural ability makes him a valuable member of our team this upcoming year.”
