TLS has received an initial report from Telus and they have requested to run an extended test of their service to us. This will result in all call between on and off campus callers will not be available for about 15 min. starting at 06:00 on January 29th, 2011.

The telephone system experienced an outage early this afternoon. This outage affected all incoming and outgoing calls. On campus callers would have experienced a fast busy signal and off campus callers would have received a message indicating that all lines were busy. TLS has opened trouble tickets with both NEC, our telephone system provider, and Telus, our service provider. We are expecting a report of the cause of the issue by the end of the day today. Telephone calls were being accepted normally by approximately 13:47 this afternoon.
1. On-campus callers to any off-campus number.
2. Off-campus callers to any on-campus number.
Duration of disruption: 13:27 – 13:47 January 28th, 2011
Follow-up: TLS will be receiving reports from both NEC and Telus as to the cause of the outage.
All incoming and outgoing telephone lines to the Augustana Campus are down.
TLS is in contact with our vendor to determine the cause and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
