University of Alberta Mixed Choir and Faculty of Education Handbell Ringers present their Spring Concert Program, directed by Dr. Robert J. de Frece.

The University of Alberta Mixed Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Robert de Frece, will perform their 67th Annual Spring Concert at the Faith & Life Chapel on Augustana Campus on Saturday, March 26th at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature the world premiere of Three Canadian Folk Songs arranged by Canadian composer Mark Sirett, who was awarded the commission to commemorate Dr. de Frece’s 25th year as conductor of the choir. The song trio is as follows:

I. The Stormy Scenes of Winter (women’s chorus), traditional song from Ontario
II. La Rosette (men’s chorus), traditional Acadian
III. Citadel Hill (mixed chorus), traditional Nova Scotian

The concert also features a wide variety of choral literature, as well as the U of A Faculty of Education Handbell Ringers.

The University of Alberta Mixed Chorus has over 100 members and has presented their annual spring concert to our community for several years now. They are always a welcome addition to the Augustana Fine Arts Calendar of Events, enjoying a warm reception from Camrose audiences at every performance. Tickets may be purchased at the door and proceeds will go to the Augustana Choir’s spring tour to the Canadian north.

Tickets: $15 (adult); $10 (student & senior); $40 (family). Available at the door. R.A.R.E.
