Why would anyone want to sort through 24 hours of garbage? Students from a first year Environmental Science class are helping Augustana monitor it’s waste diversion progress.

At Augustana we are trying to divert a large portion of our waste from the landfill.  In recent years we have expanded our recycling and composting initiative to help us achieve our waste diversion goals.   Monitoring our progress is important, and students play a vital role in this process.

This year, 19 CSL students will be sorting through 24 hours of Augustana’s waste.  Join us in the Forum on Wednesday, March 9 to learn why we do the bi-annual waste sort; learn how you can contribute to waste diversion; participate in some fun activities; and groove to some awesome music!
