Athletes of all skill levels will participate in Augustana’s first annual outdoor triathlon on October 8!

As the fall term gets underway, students are getting revved up to participate in Augustana’s first annual outdoor triathlon on Saturday, October 8.

With combined support from the Augustana Athletics department, Augustana Students’ Association, and the City of Camrose, the Augustana Triathlon Club is excited to host this new event.Participants will complete a sprint distance triathlon which involves a swim (750 m), bike (20 km), and run (5 km).

Don’t let these numbers scare you: ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME! Everyone can be involved in some capacity, as participants, volunteers, and fans are needed to make this event a success!

  • Participants: For most of us in the triathlon club, this will be our first shot at completing a triathlon, so come out and try it with us! We anticipate a good mix of competitive entries in addition to some that are “just for fun.” You can either register individually or in teams of three, where the swim/bike/run is divided between each member. Consider having some fun with this (for example, put together a theme team such as “tight and bright”)?!!
  • Volunteers: We need people to help set up, run stopwatches, count laps, and “splash” water for our brave competitors.
  • Fans: We would love to have your cheers and high-fives!

Participant and volunteer sign-up will take place in the forum from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, Thursday, September 29, Friday, September 30, and Monday, October 3. Please note the very reasonably priced entry fees (to be paid at registration): $12 individual OR $24 team (only $8/person!) + $15 Vikings Triathlon T-shirt (optional)

This race is open to everyone! Bring your family, friends…and even your professors. See you out there!
