The Camrose Public Library is looking to fill the position of a CAP intern. This is a paid position that reports directly to the Director of Library Services. The major functions include: maintaining the public access computers, assisting the public with computer operations and promoting the CAP site through publicity and promotional materials. The position will enable those individuals who don’t own a computer to share in the advantage of computer access as well as provide one-on-one assistance to those whose computer literacy skills are limited.

General duties of this position include: one-on-one and small group tutorials with public regarding computer operations, carry out assigned duties related to the public access computers which may include maintaining day to day operation of all computers, investigate any problems concerning computers, respond to user inquiries, maintain software and hardware as appropriate, support staff and public to use new media technologies and provide basic troubleshooting of printers and photocopying machines.

This is a temporary position that requires evening and weekend work. Total of 420 hours divided by two students to be used by the end of April 2012. The position may be scheduled around the student’s school schedule to provide service and support on a weekly basis.
