This afternoon for the whole family features kid-friendly activities and ice cream in the Gym – while parents learn about the role of gestures in a young child’s brain development!

A Hand Up
While your children or grandchildren attend the Rocky Road Ice Cream Fantasy, why not learn a little about them? Dr. Paula Marentette will talk about how the hands support (and reveal) cognitive development in very young children in a brief seminar that same afternoon.

Find out more about Dr. Paula Marentette’s research – and the presentation she will deliver – here.

The children will be hosted by Augustana Residence Advisors, who will watch them do crafts and eat ice cream while you learn about the role of gestures in a child’s development.

Augustana & U of A Alumni enjoy a complimentary afternoon – though we ask you to bring a donation to the Food Bank. Other guests: $3 per child plus a food bank item.

Register here or contact the Augustana Alumni Office at alumni@augustana.ca or 780-679-1105.
