In order to raise the funds necessary to name the endowment, and make it self-sustaining, a benefit concert has been planned … The Melody Lingers On…A Concert Tribute to PJ Bailey. It is slated for Friday, May 18th at 7:30 pm at The Bailey Theatre in Camrose. It will feature a variety of talented performers, all with great significance in PJ’s life. It will also  première a big band jazz ballad, “Song for PJ”, commissioned from Grant MacEwan University’s composer in residence, Allan Gilliland, and performed by The River City Big Band from Edmonton.

This band will perform a number of works and will collaborate with several prominent artists, including Joel Gray, trumpet and Ray Baril, saxophone – also on faculty at Grant MacEwan University.

Other performers will include PJ’s sisters, Brittany Bailey (jazz & pop vocals) and Halley Bailey (mezzo-soprano); Simply Brass (a brass quintet that includes  Bob Bailey and Tom Spila); Inna Luzanac, Piano; Kathleen Corcoran, Soprano; Paul “Sparky” Johnson; Dave McDougall; Blue Thistle; Victoria Carlson, Percussion; CHORAZZ!; and the Camrose Academy of Dance Senior Lyrical Dance Troupe.

Tickets may be purchased at The Bailey Theatre Ticket Outlet and online at www.baileytheatre.com

For those who would like to support this cause but may be unable to attend, donations to the PJ Bailey Fund at the Battle River Community Foundation are welcome at any time.
