The Vikings Men’s Volleyball team is hosting a pre-season exhibition tournament starting at 6pm September 28th and running through the 29th at Augustana.

The Vikings will play host to the Olds College Broncos, Concordia College Thunder, King’s University College Eagles and the Ambrose University College Lions.  Three of these teams are the Vikings ACAC rivals. This gives the Vikings an opportunity to scope out their competition. The season kicks off in the next few weeks.

The Vikings started off their season with a strong showing last weekend at a tournament in Edmonton, winning three games and having one loss to ACAC rival, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). This is the first game of the season that the Vikings will play at home against league competitors. The Vikings are looking strong and Coach Greg Ryan is excited for the weekend.

“I am looking forward to serving as the interim coach for this year. The team has worked very hard in the preseason on developing new skills. I think this willingness to learn and work hard will serve us well this year. The players are showing potential for a very competitive season,“ said Ryan.

There will be a $2 admission at the door as a fundraiser for the Camrose Boys & Girls Club. Come out to Augustana to support your local community and enjoy some quality volleyball! The Vikings will play their first match at 6pm on Friday evening against the Olds College Broncos.
