I know we’re all getting excited about the Nordlys Film & Arts Festival next month, but that doesn’t give us an excuse to miss the important issues happening now!

Check out the international artists’ exhibit on Red Deer, or pen down a 1-800 number to find out if your data was on a missing student loan database. On Monday, Jérôme Melançon’s round table will try to determine what “the liberal arts” means here at Augustana: the term is thrown about rather casually here, don’t you find? Heck – plan a trip to Calgary before Nordlys and catch a Fraser Institute session on economics, energy and health care in Alberta with a lunchtime speaker on drug legalization!

I know you won’t be missing the Faculty-Student-Staff Meet ‘n Greet this evening! I can’t express the delight I have at the image of 300 faculty and staff, plus over 1,000 students, showing up at the Epp-icentre tonight. And you know what? Our indomitable kitchen would work a miracle to make sure everyone had a cookie or square – plus sufficient coffee and juice – to make it through the event.
