Each semester Augustana students participate in a waste sort to learn how well our recycling and waste diversion systems are working and to identify where we need change or improvement to uphold our campus-wide commitment to sustainable practices. Over the years this waste sort has shown us just how much Augustana’s total waste could be diverted from the landfill to reduce Augustana’s overall ecological footprint.

This semester, in order to demonstrate community-wide engagement, we are inviting staff and faculty to participate in the waste sort on Wednesday, January 30. The waste sort will be an all-day event in the Augustana Forum and will be an opportunity for students, staff and faculty to work together on creating a more sustainable campus.

To sign-up for a shift at the waste sort or to learn more about it please feel free to contact the Learning and Beyond office.
