On Tuesday, April 9, a group of students and members of the Aboriginal Engagement Committee, along with our colleagues from the North Campus’ Aboriginal Student Services, met with planners to begin a discussion about creating a space at the Augustana campus where Aboriginal students may gather.

This space would be created through a re-organizing of an area on campus, and aim to provide a space for students from First Nations, Métis, and Inuit backgrounds to meet and assist each other on their personal and educational journeys, but also to encourage cross-cultural exchanges among all our students.

Based on the needs we identified during that consultation and previous in-person and online consultations (see the minutes from our past meetings), we will hear back about the practical possibilities for this space on campus. In the meantime, should you have any questions or input, please get in touch with us!
