00s---Paul-Sparky-JohnsonCome join Phil Zinken, Philip Penrod, Jon Lindstrand, drama professor Paul “Sparky” Johnson and a bunch of Augustana Drama Alumni as they present: An Evening of Improvisation: The Games of Viola Spolin.

From Phil Zinken:

“A few of us, former Drama students, have been batting around the idea of a get-together so that we could have the opportunity to “play” again. We decided to set up a Improvisational Workshop to allow us an opportunity to come back home and play.

“After university, many of us have limited opportunity to engage in theatrical improvisation activities–especially as players. Initially, this was seen as a small gathering–perhaps 3-5 of us. Soon, the idea blossomed to hosting this larger 3 day workshop for all former CLC, AUC Augustana Campus Alum.

“A Facebook Invite went out and with in a week over 50 former students had been invited. Instead of this being lead exclusively by group  organizers, we have decided to ask participants to come ready to offer as well as play, or as many of have heard many times before, we need to follow the follower. Therefore, the workshop’s success hinges on the players willingness to fall back into activities and ideas many of us have not thought about for many years.

Thanks again for your support. We look forward to being back on campus!”

Augustana Theatre Centre at 7 pm
