Guillaume Tardif and Roger Admiral recreate the fun and flashy atmosphere of 18th and 19th century opera by adapting its most showy vocal pieces for the virtuosity of strings and piano, paling with the scintillating potential of their instruments to tug on your heart
You will hear Lensky’s Aria from Tchaikowsky’s Eugene Onegin, as well as selections from Mozart’s Magic Flute, Donizetti’s Lucia de Lammermoor, Verdi’s La Traviata, Wagner’s Parsifal and Gounod’s Faust.
Guillaume Tardif is Associate Professor of Violin and serves as Head of Strings and Chamber Music at the Department of Music, University of Alberta. Roger Admiral is a freelance musician and university contract instructor based in Camrose. Most recently Roger and Guillaume performed at Carnegie Hall, New York City. They have also presented concerts in Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Korea, and across Canada.
