ARDN is looking for presenters for the Creating Rural Connections 2014 Event Series: Vulnerable Populations on April 25 in Calgary.

Deadline for submissions – February 26 at 12pm.

The ARDN believes that exploring and addressing challenges facing Alberta’s vulnerable populations is an important step to developing rural Alberta communities and enhancing their quality of life. That’s why CRC 2014: Vulnerable Populations will look at a variety of issues relating to the following populations: youth, seniors, First Nations, immigrants, persons with disabilities, and other people facing disadvantages.

Through workshops, sessions, posters, or panel sessions, presenters will investigate the most crucial challenges facing vulnerable populations, and explore and plan for innovative solutions to those challenges with event delegates.

CRC 2014: Vulnerable Populations will set the agenda for rural development in the area of Alberta’s vulnerable populations. It will be interactive and engaging while highlighting community-institution collaborations, featuring local talent, knowledge, and expertise, and demonstrating the ways post-secondary involvement can help rural communities address their local challenges. The event will include150 individuals from non-governmental organizations, post-secondary faculty, staff, and students, and municipal, provincial, and federal governments.
