On Wednesday March 12, Augustana will host the second annual Sustainability Fair from 10AM-12PM in the forum. There will be an array of informative displays, engaging activities, games, music, prizes and food. Various departments and student groups on campus will be presenting their initiatives, while soliciting some feedback from staff and students about campus sustainability.
Learn about the Augustana Waste Sort, and how well the campus is correctly diverting their waste. Stop by the Facilities and Operations and Technology Learning Service booths to discover the ways our campus strives to reduce energy consumption and source sustainable products. Engage with community service-learning (CSL) students presenting on sustainability initiatives. Find out what the The Augustana Student’s Association has planned for the campus garden. As well, we welcome community partners such as the Battle River Water Shed Alliance and local farmer Takota Coen who will provide some ways that you may become involved in sustainability in the broader community.
Stop by and enter to win some excellent door prizes from the Office of Sustainability and the Augustana Book Store. We hope you will walk away with a better understanding of how we integrate sustainability into our affairs at Augustana, and how you too may improve sustainability at home. See you on March 12!
