The Augustana Choirs invite you to Celebrate the Mystery Nov 29-30

aNov29-30 - Augustana Choirs Celebrate the MysteryCELEBRATE THE MYSTERY OF ADVENT/CHRISTMAS SEASON WITH THE AUGUSTANA CHOIRS!

Join all of the Augustana Choirs as they present their annual Advent-Christmas concert under the baton of Dr. John Wiebe.  The Augustana Choir, Sangkor: Augustana’s Women’s Choir, and Mannskor: Augustana’s Men’s Choir will celebrate the joy and mystery of the Christmas season with some of your favourite carols on Saturday, November 29th at 8:00 pm and again on Sunday, November 30th at 3:00 pm.  Both concerts are located in the Augustana Campus Faith & Life Chapel.

Celebrate the Mystery is a concert that celebrates the Christmas story by focusing on its intangible element; those aspects of the story that are beyond the realm of the natural or normal – that are mysterious.  Music by composers from the Renaissance (Tallis, Victoria) to the present (Lauridsen, Fulton, Willan) will explore these mysterious elements, while two sets of English folk songs by Vaughan Williams will explore an older, simpler English view of the Christmas season. There will be chances for the audience to join the choirs.

For many, the annual Augustana Advent-Christmas concerts signify the start of their Christmas season. Let us be the start of yours. Tickets may be purchased at the door.  For further information, call the Augustana Fine Arts Office (ph. 780-679-1532).

Saturday, November 29 [8:00 pm] & Sunday, November 30 [3:00 pm], Augustana Chapel.

Tickets (only at the door): $18 (adults); $14 (students/seniors); $45 (family). R.A.R.E.
