“Relentless. All out. All game. All season.” The Augustana Women’s Basketball team has been building a very strong foundation so far this season. Having new coaches and new systems, the girls have been nothing but hard working and willing to learn. They have had a very strong start with a record of 4-2 after four weeks into regular season.
Their first weekend they travelled to Grand Prairie having two hard battles against the Wolves. In the first game they came out with a “47-43” win to the start of their season, and “62-57” in the second game. Taking every weekend as another chance to improve, the Vikings push hard during practice and training to prepare for the next weekend to come. The next opponent was the Concordia Thunder. They Vikings worked hard as a team and swept the Thunder “54-40” at their home opener in the first game, and “52-48” at Concordia. This past weekend didn’t turn out the way the Vikings wanted it to. Taking their first losses over the Keyano Huskies “64-68” and “60-73,” to heart, the ladies are using this to fuel their urgency this upcoming weekend against the number one ranked Lakeland Rustlers.
Home game Friday, November 14th at 6:00 p.m and away Saturday. The ladies hope to see you out to support them as they take on this challenge.
