A21_7112On November 1st our Men’s, Women’s and Mixed curling teams traveled to Vermilion to defend our title in the second annual Challenge Cup. This is a competition between Augustana and Lakeland College to gain some practice and experience. The Challenge Cup consists of a classic curling game, a skills competition and a skins curling game. Last season, our Vikings dominated the Lakeland Rustlers with a 34.5 to 16.5 victory. This year however, it was anything but a domination as it all came down to the final end of the mixed skins game. The mixed won the Draw to the button to take the last skin and give the Vikings a 27 to 24 point victory and defend our title. The Challenge Cup returns to Camrose ice in 2015.
