Young athletes are invited to Augustana Campus to build their competitive edge with the expertise of the Augustana Vikings Athletes and Coaches. The Augustana Men’s Soccer Program is pleased to offer a fun and inspiring Spring Break experience to Camrose and area youngsters. The camp will take place from March 30 – April 2, from 10am – 3pm daily for ages 8-18. The camp will be instructed by the Vikings Men’s Soccer athletes with organization and curriculum designed and developed by Head Coach, David McCarthy.

Coach McCarthy is excited for the upcoming camp. “This is a great opportunity for my players to connect with community soccer kids. They obviously have a big passion for the game to share and I think it’s a good experience for them to develop their leadership and communication skills on the coaching side of the game,” he says of his Vikings players who will take the lead on mentoring camp participants, under his direction. Team Captain, Mark Wrubleski adds, “I’m excited to coach the kids because I grew up playing soccer in Camrose. I am looking forward to helping the kids expand both their soccer skills and social skills in a team atmosphere. I think those are key no matter where a person goes in life.”

More information on the Camp and other youth program opportunities can be found on the Vikings website – along with the opportunity to register online. Only a limited number of spots are available to preserve a quality ratio of Coaches to young athletes.
