March 27 will feature Mannskor: Augustana’s Men’s Choir, and Sangkor: Augustana’s Women’s Choir, along with the Thursday Choir of A Joyful Noise!

For Camrose AJN_2014_0308-.188As part of its “Around the World” theme this year, A Joyful Noise is going on the road March 27 …. to Camrose! The choir is thrilled to be sharing the concert with the talented choirs of the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus. The concert will be held in the Augustana chapel, with its phenomenal acoustics, and will feature Mannskor: Augustana’s Men’s Choir, and Sangkor: Augustana’s Women’s Choir, along with the Thursday Choir of A Joyful Noise. Inspired to travel and preparing for a tour to Iceland in June, choir members have been exploring the music of other countries and cultures this year. At the Camrose concert their choral expedition will touch down on the continents of Africa and Europe and feature songs of joy and grace.

A Joyful Noise choirs have been performing in Edmonton and area for over ten years. The very first Joyful Noise choir, now known as Thursday Choir, was founded in 2004 by voice teacher Eva Bostrand. So many people have asked to join that there are now three A Joyful Noise choirs offering a rich choral experience to singers of varying levels of experience and different levels of time commitment. More information about all three choirs is available at www.ajoyfulnoisechoir.ca.

Tickets (available at the door) are $18 for adults, $14 for students/seniors, and $45 for families. For further information, contact the Augustana Fine Arts Office (780-679-1532).
