Augustana introduces new summer camps!
From science, art and music to summer sport camps, nature, sports and philosophy – yes, philosophy for children! – the University of Alberta’s Augustana Campus in Camrose welcomes youth ages 6-18 to experience a variety of day and overnight camps on a university campus.
“Our goals at Augustana are to engage young innovators, inspire future community builders, foster creative thinkers, and motivate the leaders of tomorrow,” says Program Coordinator Kate McConnell. “Our faculty and staff have created a summer full of fun, educational, enriching experiences for youth and we cannot wait to share them with you!”
Join the Vikings this summer for great opportunities to enhance game knowledge, develop skills, have lots of fun and meet new friends in sport! Led by Vikings student-athletes under the direction of our talented coaching staff, the University of Alberta Augustana Campus is pleased to offer several Summer Sport Camps for Camrose & area youth. Consider the popular Basketball and Volleyball camps again this summer, as well as a new Beginner Biathlon program. Visit the Vikings Summer Sport Camps portal for more information!
New this summer is award-winning, hands-on DiscoverE Science Camp – delivered in partnership with the University of Alberta Faculty of Engineering. Augustana’s Conservatory of Music unveils musical adventures through games, song, movement, nature, and rhythm. The Outdoor Education department offers activities for nature lovers including photography in the wild, hiking, climbing, canoeing, and learning wilderness survival skills.
A partnership with Philosophy for Children Alberta brings EUREKAMP to Augustana Campus. With themes taken from math, science, language, drama, art, music and ecology, curious campers will explore the outdoors, conduct experiments, learn games, and lead discussions. Through their experiences, youth will build confidence, a love of learning through enquiry and play, and gain exposure to a world of ideas.
Augustana Campus is now accepting camp registrations for the 2015 season. For more information about our summer camps and how to register, please visit our new youth programming portal at Jr.U!
