Augustana graduate Elizabeth Clarke (BMus. 2013) will return to campus on Tuesday, October 13th to present a solo piano recital in the Augustana chapel at 7:00 pm. This recital is the first in a set of four concerts that will culminate in Elizabeth’s final graduating recital at the University of Victoria, where she has been studying to earn her Master of Music degree.
During her time in Victoria, Elizabeth performed with the University of Victoria Orchestra as a winner of the 2014 concerto competition and published her SSHRC research project, “The Piano Quartet in Canada” on the website of the Canadian Music Centre. She will complete her degree in November, with hopes of pursuing a doctoral degree next fall.
Elizabeth has agreed to chat with students and others on Wednesday, October 14, at 9 am in the Epp Conference Room. Elizabeth will briefly provide an overview of what her studies have entailed at the University of Victoria, and she is interested in addressing questions that people may have regarding her research, graduate studies, and music studies in general.
During her time at Augustana, Elizabeth was very involved in the community on campus and off. She served as the accompanist for Messiah Lutheran Church’s Ladies Chorus, played for services at Bethel Lutheran Church, accompanied the Augustana Men’s Choir, and was a section leader in the Augustana choir. She is excited to return to Camrose to reconnect with the community that was such an important and memorable part of her Augustana experience.
