Russian Classics (Dr. Roger Admiral, Piano, in Recital)

Join Camrose pianist Roger Admiral on a musical journey that is sure to leave you wanting more of the musical delights of Russia and its famed composers. Admiral will lead you through Mussorgsky’s Picture at an Exhibition, the most important work from the 19th century Russian national school. As well, he will perform popular works by Prokofieff and Scriabin. And, finally, what recital featuring Russian composers would be complete without the visceral romanticism of Sergei Rachmaninoff?

Camrose pianist Roger Admiral is known throughout Canada and internationally for his artistry in solo and chamber music recitals. A busy freelance artist who also instructs courses on the Augustana and Edmonton campuses of the University of Alberta, he performs repertoire that spans from the 18th to 21st centuries. Notably, he is one of Canada’s pre-eminent champions of music written by Canadian composers. He performs as part of Kovalis Duo with Montreal percussionist Philip Hornsey. Tickets: $18 (adults); $15 (students/seniors/children) Available through the Lougheed Centre box office ph. 780.608.2922; boxoffice@camroselive.ca.
