From Prague to the Prairies: Sustainability, Science and the Politics of Complexity

Lars Hallström Distinguished Professorial Lecture

Environmental issues are more and more important to public policy makers, lying at the intersection of social, health, and economic interests. As they constitute critical challenges to our present and future, they also force us to reconsider the role of science and the effectiveness of public policy in trying to resolve, manage and adapt to social and environmental change.

Join Dr. Lars K. Hallström as he examines these dynamics and their implications. Drawing from his research in Europe and North America, he examines the “big questions” for 21st Century societies and the innovations required by sustainable development.
