“He is and continues to be a proponent of pedagogical renewal and improvement for himself, his colleagues and the campus.”

IMG_3928Dr. Geraint Osborne, associate professor of sociology, was recognized with the 2014-2015 Augustana Faculty Teaching Leadership Award.

“This dossier is absolutely excellent in everything having to do with teaching,” read the committee’s evaluation. “We are impressed with his commitment to addressing student concerns and being flexible whilst never compromising on what he thinks is appropriate for the year and for the class. Students demonstrate success after his classes and because of his classes.

“He is and continues to be a proponent of pedagogical renewal and improvement for himself, his colleagues and the campus. In other words, he has demonstrated leadership in teaching here at Augustana.”

Congratulations, Geraint!

Way to go, Geraint (and it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy, or better prof 🙂
And when did it happen (at the faculty meeting on Dec 7, the first one I failed to attend in years? 🙂
