On Sunday, February 28 the men of Mannskor join forces with the men of A Joyful Noise (Edmonton) to explore musical themes of travel & merriment. The joys, the adventure, the romance, and also the longing for home and loved ones.
The concert will start at 3:00 pm in the Faith & Life Chapel, University of Alberta – Augustana Campus, Camrose.
It is always a treat to hear large groups of men singing on stage and for this concert conductors Eva Bostrand and John Wiebe are thrilled to have their groups join forces for an entertaining evening of music. At the heart of the concert will be the nine “Songs of Travel” by Ralph Vaughn Williams, presented as solos and choral arrangements. These contemplative songs quickly give way to more boisterous celebrations of wanderlust with songs of pirates, women, and drink adding to the fun.
Mannskor is the male choir at the University of Alberta – Augustana Campus in Camrose. Comprised of community and student singers, it too provides an opportunity for singers of any level to experience the camaraderie and joy of choral singing.
A Joyful Noise choirs have been performing in Edmonton and area for over ten years.
Founded by voice teacher Eva Bostrand, there are three A Joyful Noise choirs offering a rich choral experience to singers of varying levels of experience and different levels of time commitment.
Tickets are available at the door at $20 per person or $15 for students and seniors. For more information contact the Augustana Fine Arts Office (ph. 780-679-1532; email@example.com).
