Inclusion Alberta (formerly Alberta Association for Community Living) is a family based, non-profit federation that advocates on behalf of children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. Their dream is one of a meaningful family life and community inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities.
At their annual Family Conference in April, over 700 attendees witnessed the Community Living Award presented to Mark Chytracek’s family. The Award is given to individuals or organizations in Alberta, that on a day to day basis, promote the concept and spirit of community living.
“Mark’s unwavering commitment to supporting opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to be included at the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus, has made a profound difference in the lives of many students and families,” said Regional Coordinator Colin Saby. “His tremendous faith in the Augustana Community to embrace and accept diversity was exemplary in our esteem. He understood the importance of doing a little extra each day to ensure every student felt as though they belonged. Accordingly, Inclusion Alberta would like to honour Mark for his leadership and commitment to inclusion.”
