Darby Branscombe, a fourth year piano major, has recently had an article published in the Alberta Piano Teachers’ Association newsletter which goes out to hundreds of teachers in Alberta and beyond. Her article, entitled “To Teach or Not to Teach: One-Handed Piano Students,” was crafted by research in her Piano Pedagogy course, and explains the benefits of one-handed piano practice for those with a disability, a long-lasting injury, or those who wish to become more successful by focusing on one hand at a time.
