Jeanne & Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre
“An evening you’ll never forget” is how Lougheed Centre General Manager Nick Beach describes the upcoming Cultivating the Arts Gala. Celebrity icons such as Harrison Ford and media giant CBC TV have been quoted as loving the show! “It’s got a bit of everything,” explains Beach, “live musicians and singers alongside dancers and the most unique part is the live painting done on huge canvases right before your eyes.”
Called the ‘Interactive Art & Music Experience’, The Artrageous troupe of artists, musicians, singers and dancers pay tribute to a variety of art forms, pop icons and musical genres culminating in a gallery of fabulous finished paintings. The result? A one of a kind crossover experience! IMAGINE an artist creating a masterpiece before your eyes in mere moments. With a palette that also mixes captivating vocals, intricate choreography and exciting audience interaction – Artrageous takes you on a unique visual journey packed with wild inspiration, creativity and fun!
Artrageous has produced over 2500 shows internationally. Notable shows include a private performance for Sir Richard Branson on Necker Island, British Virgin Island (2008); a performance at the World Cup Soccer Finals in Paris (1998) and headlining at the 44th annual Festival Internacional Cervantio (2016).
Patron Services Manager, Tanya Pattullo describes how the evening will begin with an exciting pre-show reception that will feature retro inspired hors d’oeuvres catered by Stockmen’s Chophouse, complimentary welcome champagne and punch and incredible lobby entertainment, games and auction items. “This is all before the Artrageous performance even begins,” says Pattullo. “Following the performance there will be a meet and greet dessert reception where patrons can meet the artists, take some photos and have some more fun,” adds Pattullo.
A signature of the Artrageous Troupe, from the very beginning of their long history, is interaction and engagement… so be prepared to be a part of the show. Each show is as unique as each audience and we can’t do it without you!
