Professor Brandon Alakas has been selected to receive a Provost’s Award for Early Achievement of Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. The award recognizes the achievement of teaching excellence by full-time continuing academic staff within five years of their first university appointment. Alexander Carpenter, music professor and chair of the department of fine arts and humanities, credits Alakas for “his especially impressive ability to foster and facilitate discussion. I find his lectures to be an artful balance of careful preparation and spontaneous engagement with the students”. Congratulations professor Alakas!
