Join us on Monday, August 28 for this year’s Opening Convocation! Students, staff, and faculty will be welcomed back to Augustana with the official opening of the 2017/18 semester at 3 pm in the Jeanne & Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre.

This year’s speakers include alumni Erik (’00) and Robyn (’01) Saude. Erik, a researcher and physician, and Robyn, Senior Manager of the Bow Habitat Station, met at Augustana and currently live in Calgary.

For Erik, it was the combination of academic research and human interaction that led him to become a doctor, alongside an impressive work ethic. Robyn shared in this work ethic, having started at Alberta’s Bow Habitat Station when it first opened and implementing innovative programming to teach visitors about Alberta’s environment and natural resources.

As if their professional lives didn’t keep them busy enough, Erik and Robyn are also raising three children. It will be a pleasure to have them speak on their work and their experience at Augustana, inspiring our first-year students to work hard and seize opportunity, just as Robyn and Erik have.
