Congratulations to all of those who finished their first course of the semester (or first University course ever) yesterday! Students and faculty alike put a lot of work in over the last three weeks, and can now enjoy a little bit of downtime before heading into the eleven-week term.

Attend this year’s one and only distinguished professorial lecture featuring professor Neil Haave on “The Art & Science of Teaching” on Thursday night in the Lougheed Performing Arts Centre. It’s alumni weekend, but that doesn’t mean the events are for alumni only! Purchase tickets for Saturday night’s Oktoberfest to enjoy beer, bratwurst, and a polka band, and feel free to attend a coffee talk on Chester Ronning’s Mission with religious studies professor and director of the Ronning centre Ian Wilson on Sunday morning. If you’ll be in Edmonton on Sunday, attend the U of A’s Canada 150 Community Celebration on South Campus featuring food trucks, kite flying, live performances, and a farmer’s market – free and open to all!

Enjoy the term break, everyone!
