Happy Wednesday, and happy Halloween! Looking to have some spooky fun? You have options! Attend today’s Lunch & Learn with professor Neil Haave titled Cholesterol: the Arterial Hobgoblin—register with Deb by calling 780.679.1626 or emailing augalum@ualberta.ca.

Looking for a little fun later in the evening? Professor Tom Terzin is hosting a Creepy Crawlers and Micro Monsters display in the classroom building from 5 to 6 pm. Come at 5 pm for a short presentation on the specimens, or simply drop in before 6 pm to look through the creatures on your own. Bring the little ones, as this is a free event for all ages (no need to register) and feel free to wear your costumes!

That’s not all! Meet in the forum at 6 pm for the Augustana Students’ Association’s Annual Tricks for Eats night to trick-or-treat for items to be donated to the food bank. Afterward, prizes will be awarded for best individual costume, best group costume and most items collected.

It’s also your last day to submit answers to the Writing Centre’s Halloween Contest! The draw for winners will be held tomorrow.

Besides being full of Fall festivities, this week is Sexual Violence Awareness Week. Stop by the forum for a number of events today, tomorrow and Friday, including a bake sale and a “wear blue” (to support sexual violence victims) photo tomorrow at noon.

This Friday is also the Afri-Youth Club’s One Night in Africa Gala, where you can join in for a night celebrating the beauty of Africa while donating to a charitable cause. And Saturday is Augustana’s Got Talent. Cheer on your talented friends, peers and students at the Performing Arts Centre at 7 pm (doors open at 6 pm).

Enjoy!
