Join in on the Faculty of Rehab Medicine’s Educated Luncheon on Managing Lower Back Pain, live-streamed at the University of Alberta’s Augustana Campus.

Back pain is the world’s leading cause of disability. Conventional treatments like bed rest, pills, surgeries, and scans have done little to improve this growing problem. New guidelines recommend that simple, safe approaches aimed at getting people moving may be better options. Hear from UAlberta professor Doug Gross, ’97 BSc PT, ’03 PhD, whose research explores management of back pain and related conditions. Learn how the growing back pain problem is forcing a rethink of traditional medical strategies, and how research is identifying promising new approaches.
