A Wahkohtowin Movement: Building a Cree Education System

with Brian Wildcat, Superintendent of the Maskwacis Education Schools Commission

Join this year’s distinguished alumni award recipient, Brian Wildcat, for a presentation on the development of the new Maskwacis Education Schools Commission. Brian is the newly appointed Superintendent of Schools for Maskwacis Education Schools Commission (2018). Working in First Nations education for the last 30 years, Brian believes First Nations operated schools have a critical role to play in improving First Nations education, providing leadership based on traditional beliefs and values, preserving language and culture, and making a commitment to learner success.
