Happy Wednesday! The three-week block ended yesterday, and students have a term break for the rest of the week before the 11 begins next Monday. Although no classes will take place over the next three days, there are a number of other events planned, especially for Alumni Weekend! Scroll down for more information on those events (including Oktoberfest!) as well as student skills workshops and performances at the Lougheed Centre as well as the Bailey Theatre. This issue of the weekly also includes updates from the library—did you know that students can now use the Learning Commons after 5 pm?—as well as the Campus Rec schedule and as always, the dining hall menu.

Have a good break!

  • In recent months, UAlberta Protective Services has made available online reporting options for specific incidents. This online reporting is available to Augustana, though in-person reports will continue to be available as well. All in-person reports can be reported directly to our UAPS Liason Officer, Lawrence Fraser during scheduled office hours (Monday to Friday: 7 am to 3 pm, Ravine Studio Building A029). Outside of office hours, incidents may be reported to Lawrence the next day, or directly to Protective Services Dispatch (24/7) at north campus by calling 780-608-2905 or 1-780-492-5050.

If you are searching for alternative accommodation, the Augustana Students’ Association compiles a list of Off-Campus Housing. Visit http://asa.su.ualberta.ca/services/off-campus-housing/ to view the list (if the link isn’t working, try using a different browser (Firefox or Internet Explorer)). Contact the ASA (augsa@ualberta.ca) for more information.

  • Students can also look to the MyUAlberta App for on-campus job postings. Look under the “Life at Augustana” tile to find “Student Job Opportunities”.
